Podcast improves children' skills!!
People can download a lot of files such as photos, musics, and video on web across the Internet over the world by "podcast." Podcast is one of digital media. They can more enjoy their life if they use podcast. In the US, educators tend to use the podcast to teach students in elementary school.
The Langwithes Blog is the online hub for Silvia Rosenthal Tolisano. She is a world language teacher, a technology facilitator, and 21st century learning specialist. I read three posts in the Langwitches Blog, The Digital Learning Farm & i Pad Apps, Langwitches-1st Graders Create Own Read Along Book and Langwitches - Podcasting With 1st Grad.
In The Digital Learning Farm & i Pad Apps, she uses The Digital Learning Farm Concept to plan projects or look to reinforce certain skills and literacy.
In Langwitches-1st Graders Create Own Read Along Book and Langwitches - Podcasting With 1st Grad, I knew students can get a variety of skills by using podcast. She let her students use technology tools such as recording program and use podcast in class.
In First Graders Create Own Read Along Book, she reads textbook for her 1st grade students to learn language. She records her students' interview on each chapter and she records the interviews of all chapters, so she creates a little booklet (podcast) for them, so they can listen to the podcast and follow along. After listening to the podcast, she asks them the experience. In Podcast With First Grade, her students read a textbook in the class. First, they read a chapter once and then they discuss what happened on the chapter as they are reading. They record the process in which they questions about it for them and they answers it. The recording and interview are rotated by all of them. Additionally, they edit the record, so they can create podcast. After reading the two Langwitches Blog, I am favorably impressed by her teaching style. I think she can combine literacy classes such as reading and writing and technology tools such as iPad, and computers well in a new way. Her teaching make her students get skills of literacy and using technology. In other words, her students can not only get skills of reading, speaking, listening, comprehension, storytelling, performance, voice acting, oral fluency but also use media and technology tools well through her teaching. Additionally, the students enjoy participating the class and learning.
Keiko,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your blog and I think having podcast in education is really important. I think it can be helpful in many ways. The only thing I found wrong was some grammar and punctuation errors.
Thoughtful.
